Absolutely loved my experience at Brooklyn Residency! The D'Usse Berry cocktail was smooth and delicious, and kudos to the talented bartender. The Rate R Shrimp with Grits was incredibly tasty, prompting me to also try the Honey Jerk Wings with Waffles – both were packed with flavor. I'll definitely be returning for more!

Love this place. Stumbled upon it and I’m so happy I did. My favorite dish is the Shrimp and grits; i sometimes leave ordering one to go. I normally go during slower hours because the music is usually lower. Definitely my comfort spot. In my experience the staff is always attentive and polite. No complaints

The food here is DELICIOUS. Everything is cooked well and very well seasoned. These may just be the best fries in Brooklyn. We ordered wings and sliders, both came with fries. One of my favorite things about this place, is they open their kitchen to other chefs so they can pop up. You can see who's coming via the businesses instagram. It's a cool way to get introduced to new chefs and also help them get exposure. It's also quite enough in the day time to work from home here even though they don't have coffee. Will continue to come back here.

Was looking for brunch specifically and this spot was recommended to me. 10/10. Service, music, food all on point. Made reservations as recommended and when I arrived the wait was only 5 mins. Food was amazing. Make sure to try the fish/shrimp and grits and the rum punch. I had the breakfast platter and it was good. The owner even took a shot with us.

If you looking for a vibe and good food this the place to come. We went on a Sunday the DJ and service was amazing. The food was excellent. We left Beso Brooklyn to come here and were not disappointed. My girlfriend and her friend were waiting outside for the rest of the party and was greeted by a hostess who asked if they were ok, needed anything or wanted to come inside....so sweet. The drinks were bomb and the food was well seasoned and tasty even the fries which they seasoned with Cajun seasoning. I ordered the shrimp, fish and grits it was creamy like grits should be but not runny. The fish was crispy and fried to perfection. The shrimp did what it needed in every bite. We also had the shrimp tacos (best I have had in a long time), and chicken nachos. I don’t eat meat but the party enjoyed it. I would highly recommend this establishment and it’s black owned.

I stumbled upon this hidden gem after a failed attempt at another restaurant, and I'm so glad I did! The two young ladies behind the bar were super sweet, and the atmosphere was simple but charming—with exposed brick, which I *love* (honestly, I'm over those grass walls that are everywhere). We walked in and were immediately greeted, though they didn’t have any tables available, so we grabbed seats at the bar. The place is small but feels spacious. The food options were great (though I’m terrible at taking pictures of my food because I’m always too hungry and forget). I won’t eat at another Manhattan restaurant again—no matter what you order, it always comes out cold. But here? The food came out hot, *piping* hot. We got a pitcher of rum punch, and the price was perfect for the size and the amount of liquor in it. We also tried the honey jerk wings with fries. The fries were well-seasoned without being salty, and the honey-to-jerk seasoning ratio was the best I’ve had since the pandemic! It was perfectly balanced, and the wings were just *so* good. I had the fish and shrimp grits, and my best friend had the shrimp grits. Every bite was amazing. Seriously, the food was so hot I burned my tongue and the roof of my mouth, but I didn’t even care. They’re open from 11 am to 6 pm, serving breakfast all day, which was perfect because I didn’t make it out of bed until 2 pm due to being hungover. If you're looking for a cool spot with a grass wall for pictures, you can still go to those places for drinks, but trust me, the food here is way better. If you're planning to hit that spot on Lewis, grab a bite here first! Definitely recommend this place—can’t wait for the next adventure!

This was my 4th time there. The shrimp and grits is my favorite. We added wings to our meal. Mimosa is on point. The servers are wonderful. Did not care for the owner. No hospitality skills at all.
